Poha is flattened or beaten rice. Aloo and Matar(peas ) Poha snack is an easy-to-cook and an all time favorite. This Indian dish is specially taken during the time of breakfast or a tea time snack.
INGREDIENTS:-
~ Thick poha (rice flakes or beaten rice) ---------- 2 cup
~ Onion( chopped) ---------- 1 medium
~ Potato( boiled, peeled and cut into small cubes) ---------- 1 medium
~ Tomato, chopped ---------- 1 medium
~ Green peas ---------- 1/4 cup
~ Cumin seed ---------- 1/2 tbsp
~ Mustard seeds ---------- 1/2 tbsp
~ Chana dal ---------- 1 tbsp
~ Urad dal ---------- 1 tbsp
~ Turmeric powder ---------- 1/4 tbsp
~ Green chili(chopped) ---------- 2
~ Lemon juice ---------- 1tbsp or to taste
~ Red chilli powder( optional) ---------- 1/4 tbsp or to taste
~ Peanuts( roasted) ---------- 2 tbsp
~ Few coriander leaves ---------- finely chopped
~ Curry leaves ---------- 5-6
~ Salt ---------- to taste
~ Oil ---------- 4 tbsp
METHOD:-
1:- Soak poha into water for 2-3 minutes or till it becomes soft and then drain and keep it aside.
2:- Heat oil in a frying pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, urad dal, and curry leaves and fry until they crackle. And then add onions, green chillies and sauté until they are golden brown.
3:- And then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder(optional), tomatoes, green peas and saute for few minutes or cook till they are done.
4:- Add potatoes, peanuts and stir well. Now add the poha and mix gently in a low flame for 3 -4 minutes.
5:-And now add salt and lemon juice and mix well.
6:- Garnish with coriander leaves. Aloo Peas Poha is ready.
7:- Serve it hot with tomato sauce or curd.
